On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Sister Jean Jacobchik can be found at St. Joseph’s Parish in Reading overseeing the "Doorways of Hope” Project, an early learning program for Latino and Haitian children.
Sister Jean directs, maintains, and individually teaches 3 1/2 to 5 years olds along with a teacher and aides. In its seventh year, this Bernardine Franciscan Project is a Catholic Head Start experience that prepares these children for the challenges of living in an English speaking community.
Sister Jean finds this ministry rewarding and exciting to witness the daily growth of God’s precious little ones.
